A Wallaceburg man is facing charges after a shoplifting incident.
Chatham-Kent Police were called to a local convenience store on Saturday after a man allegedly stole some merchandise and fled.
An employee confronted the suspect outside the store, but authorities say the accused allegedly assaulted the clerk and brandished a knife.
The man was later found by police and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and theft.
The 49-year-old was later released on bail with conditions and a future court date.
