One person has been arrested following a commercial break and enter in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent Police say an alarm went off at a Richmond Street business shortly before 4:30 this morning.
Officers arrived and found a man allegedly trying to smash the audible security alarm. Further investigation showed the accused had pried open one of the doors to get into the building.
Authorities say roughly $1000 in damage was done, but nothing was stolen.
The 20-year-old has been charged with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence and one count of mischief.
