Accused Vandal Arrested in Downtown Chatham

An arrest has been made in connection with an act of vandalism in downtown Chatham.

Chatham-Kent Police received a report of property damage at a home on King Street West Tuesday morning.

A review of CCTV footage showed a man damaging a doorbell and intercom system before leaving the scene. Investigators identified the 39-year-old suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The accused was tracked down shortly after midnight on Wednesday. The man has since been charged with mischief, and was released with conditions and a future court date.
