Active Cases In C-K Down To 40, Total Cases Drop Due To False Positives

Chatham-Kent’s total COVID-19 case load has actually decreased today due to some additional false positive test results.
CK Public Health is reporting 356 total cases, down from Tuesday’s 360. Four false positive cases were removed from the positive and active lists.
There are no new cases in C-K today.
The “active” cases have also dropped by 14 from 54 to 40, due to the false positives and additional recoveries. 314 of C-K’s 356 cases are now recovered.
In addition, three local residents have been released from hospital. One Chatham-Kent residents remain in hospital care.
Of C-K’s 40 active cases, 23 are considered close contact transmissions, 3 are travel related, 2 are transmissions from congregate settings 2 are pending and 5 are unknown with 5 connected to workplace outbreaks. There are still two active workplace outbreaks listed on Public Health’s website.
Ontario reported 102 new infections across the province.
