Active COVID-19 Cases Decline Slightly

While Chatham-Kent saw a double-digit increase in the number of COVID-19 cases on Monday, the number of active cases has declined.

The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit reported on Monday that the number of active cases in the municipality dropped from 52 to 48 over the weekend.

The health unit also reported 17 new cases of the virus, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 2842.

The COVID-19 death toll in Chatham-Kent remains unchanged at 24.

Two COVID-19 patients are still being treated at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

Two additional outbreaks were declared at schools within the community over the weekend. Chatham Christian Elementary School currently has two active cases, while Tilbury Arena Public School has three.

An outbreak has been in effect at Chatham Christian High School since October 30 due to three active cases. There is also an outbreak at an unidentified workplace due to five active cases, which has been in place since November 5.
