Active COVID Cases Dip, Pop-Up Clinics Ramp Up

Chatham-Kent’s COVID caseload is down to six today.

Despite some technical difficulties with the website, Public Health is reporting two new cases since the last update on Friday.

While an outbreak connected to Community Living hasn’t been declared over quite yet, the agency’s Summer Program has resumed. Two participants and a job coach tested positive last month, but have now recovered. Community Living officials say a third participant, who was added to the outbreak last week, is expected to be cleared in the next few days.

Province-wide, 325 COVID cases are being reported by the Ministry of Health today.

Meantime, now that the doors of Chatham-Kent’s mass vaccination clinic have been closed, public health is shifting to mobile clinics around the municipality.

Those looking to get either their first or second COVID shot can go to the Dresden Arena tomorrow from 10am to 4pm. Appointments can be booked in advance at getyourshotck.ca. Walk-ins will also be accepted while vaccine supplies last.

More pop-up clinics are scheduled in Pain Court, Chatham, Merlin, Blenheim, and Wallaceburg in the weeks ahead.

Vaccines are also available at select doctor’s offices and pharmacies across the municipality.
