Another drop on Chatham-Kent’s COVID front today.
Public Health is reporting just one new infection and 11 cases resolved, leaving 38 active cases across the municipality.
There are still three active outbreaks, including one un-identified workplace and two schools.
Two COVID-positive patients are being treated at the Health Alliance, one of whom is in the ICU.
As far as vaccination rates go in Chatham-Kent, 85% of those 12 and older have received their first dose, while 81% is fully vaccinated with both shots. The health unit will begin administering third doses to eligible residents tomorrow.
Of the new COVID cases since July 1st, 73% have been in unvaccinated individuals. Public Health figures show roughly 13% had either received one dose, were not yet fully protected, or had an undetermined vaccination status, and just under 15% had been fully vaccinated.
