Active COVID Cases Drop, And That Pleases Colby

The numbers of active cases of COVID-19 in the municipality are going down, and Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Colby says he will take it.

I can’t really discern whether that was a blip because of people not following public health precautions around the holiday period, or whether it is an effect of the provincial lockdown. It’s probably not an either or situation, I think everything helps with getting this done, and I am just happy our active cases are dropping”.

Just seven new cases of COVID-19 are being reported in Chatham-Kent today.

The public health unit says with 18 recoveries, that drops the active caseload to 80.

Five area residents remain in hospital being treated for the virus.

As far as the arrival of any vaccines in Chatham-Kent he says he still can’t confirm a date as the Pfizer delay is effecting the whole country.
