As COVID-19 continues to spread across the province, Chatham-Kent has reached a record number of active cases.
Public health reported 43 new infections and 25 cases resolved on Tuesday, raising the active caseload to 288, which is the highest it has ever been in Chatham-Kent.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance also saw the number of patients being treated for the virus increase from 10 to 14.
No new outbreaks were reported by health officials on Tuesday. However, outbreaks remain in effect at eight elementary schools in Chatham-Kent, at Riverview Gardens nursing home in Chatham and at an unidentified manufacturing plant.
Provincially, Ontario reported an additional 8,825 COVID cases on Tuesday, with 187 COVID patients in ICUs across the province.
