Active COVID Cases Rise to 138 Across Chatham-Kent

Another big jump in Chatham-Kent’s COVID cases in today’s report from Public Health.

Since the last update on Friday, there have been another 55 confirmed cases of the virus in the municipality.

With 26 cases considered resolved, the active caseload has risen to 138.

There are now 15 patients with COVID-19 being treated at the Health Alliance, six of whom are in the ICU and three on ventilators. Of the COVID patients at CKHA, three are fully vaccinated, the other 11 are not.

Beds in the intensive care unit are 60% filled, while occupancy in the medical, surgical, and critical care units is listed at 91.2%.

Seven CKHA staff are off work due to testing positive for COVID-19 or exposure to the virus.

Public Health is keeping tabs on nine outbreaks – five elementary schools, two churches, and two manufacturing facilities. 19 of the current active cases are outbreak-related.
