Adding Native Plants and Species to Crothers Park

A Wallaceburg park has been given a spring spruce-up, thanks to a partnership between the municipality of Chatham-Kent, and Enbridge.

Volunteers with the Sydenham Field Naturalists recently planted several native species in Crothers Park along the trail next to Running Creek.

The organization also teamed up with Wallaceburg District Secondary School to build, erect, and properly maintain a birdhouse to establish a Purple Martins nesting area.

Officials say the work will continue with restoration along the bank aiding in the survival of nature and the tranquility of the park for its visitors.
