Air Canada Flight Attendants Continue To Defy Back-To-Work Order

Hundreds of Air Canada flights remain grounded amid an ongoing workers’ strike that has been declared illegal by Canada’s labour relations board.

Air Canada’s 10,000 flight attendants walked off the job on Saturday and have remained on strike, ignoring a back-to-work order and binding arbitration imposed by the federal government.

The Canadian Industrial Relations Board has called the decision to defy the order “unlawful.”

The dispute has disrupted the plans of hundreds of thousands of travellers, leading Prime Minister Mark Carney to urge both sides to reach an agreement as soon as possible.
