Day Program Coordinator (22.5 hours/wk)

The Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent is a non-profit organization with the following mission: To improve the quality of life of people affected by Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias through superior programs and research.
Responsibilities
- Reports directly to the Day Program Manager.
- To oversee the day to day provision of service to clients attending the Day Program as well as to their caregivers.
- To aid the Day Program Manager in assessing the ongoing eligibility of clients for the program.
- To aid clients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
- To aid in the ongoing evaluation of programming to ensure it meets individual client’s needs.
- To aid volunteers and students in the implementation of the program.
- Program planning for clients
- To aid with meal organization.
Requirements
- Represent the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent in a polite, confidential, empathetic and helpful manner to both external clients and staff
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- A solid understanding and application of confidentiality
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation training
Qualifications
- Post Secondary School degree (recommended) or diploma in activation or recreation
- Knowledge and work experience in the field of Gerontology, specifically with those affected by Alzheimer disease or a related dementia.
- Advanced knowledge of various computer applications (Office 2007) and Internet Explorer
