Close to $3,700 was raised at Friday night’s silent auction and dinner to support building a new animal shelter in Chatham.
Campaign co-chair Marjorie Crew says they have now surpassed the halfway mark for fundraising.
“Halfway is still a long ways off (from the goal,)” Crew says. “We need people to consider us any time they’re making donations.”
The campaign aims to raise $1.5 million to build a new animal shelter on Park Avenue East in Chatham.
A broasted chicken dinner fundraiser later this week has already sold out, and Crew says more fundraisers are in the works.
