The anti-lockdown group is headed up by Independent MPP Randy Hillier and MP Derek Sloan, who are telling the crowds exactly what they want to hear: Enough is enough with the lockdowns.
“We can’t allow it any longer. We have taken a great country, with great people, and these lock down policies, we’ve told people not to be Canadian, we’ve told them to keep apart from one another. Well that’s not what Canadians do,” Hillier says. “We get together. We get together for worship, We get together for preaching and for partying, we get together for politics.”
There were over 200 people in Tecumseh park in Chatham for the protest.
“They are telling us we have to wear masks, that we are dangerous,” Hillier says. “That our little children are dangerous. They are telling us we don’t need the rule of law anymore. We don’t need to have elected leaders anymore. The experts will tell us what to do.”
No word yet if any tickets were handed out for violating the provinces stay at home order.
