The numbers are in from this week’s McHappy Day fundraiser across Chatham-Kent.
In all, $40,729 was raised in Chatham and Wallaceburg this past Wednesday, exceeding last year’s total of $33491.
A portion of the cost of all menu items sold at McDonalds that day are being donated to support families with seriously ill children while they’re in hospital.
Proceeds support three core programs in the region – Ronald McDonald Houses in London and Windsor, and the Ronald McDonald Family Room in London.
Since McHappy Day was first celebrated in 1977, McDonald’s Canada, its franchisees, and donors have contributed nearly $66 million for Ronald McDonald Houses and local Canadian children’s charities.
