Argument Ends In Assault, Threat Charges

A Chatham man is facing charges after a verbal argument escalated into threatening behaviour.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a disturbance at a “licensed establishment” in Chatham shortly before 11 p.m. on Tuesday. Authorities have not identified the business or where in Chatham it is located.

Following an investigation, it was learned that a man had made threats toward another person and “engaged in aggressive behaviour.”

As a result, a 22-year-old Chatham man was arrested and is now charged with two counts of uttering threats and one count of assault. He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
