A local woman will have to answer to a judge in court after allegedly spray-painting graffiti in downtown Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a mischief complaint on King Street West just before 4 p.m. on Friday after a woman was seen spray-painting walls and ripping plants out behind a business.
Police located a suspect in the area, along with fresh paint and several cans of spray paint nearby.
As a result, a 36-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with one count of mischief under $5,000. She was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
