A Chatham man is facing several charges after an investigation uncovered that a woman had repeatedly been the victim of assault.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Victoria Avenue address on Wednesday at around 10:25 p.m. following a disturbance.
While at the scene, officers learned of recent and past incidents where the man had allegedly assaulted the woman.
As a result, the 30-year-old accused was arrested and is now charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm and three counts of assault. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
