Arrest Made in Chatham Hotel Theft

An arrest has been made following a theft from a local hotel.

Chatham-Kent Police were called to a Richmond Street property early Thursday morning, shortly before 4 o’clock and say a man came into the front lobby, stole a set of keys, and left the premises.

Investigators were able to identify the accused through surveillance footage and previous interactions.

The man was found a short time later and the keys recovered.

The 46-year-old is charged with theft and possession of stolen property. He was released from custody with conditions and a date in court next month.
