Chatham-Kent Police have arrested a middle-aged Essex man and charged him with luring a child online.
Earlier this month, officers from the Internet Child Exploitation Unit launched an investigation into allegations that a man had used social media platforms to lure a child under the age of 18 for a sexual purpose.
A search warrant was carried out a t the man’s home on November 16th. The 65-year-old was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.
Authorities say the victim has been identified and has been offered the necessary support.
A publication ban has been put in place, limiting the information that can be released and no further details are being made available.
