A Chatham woman is facing charges in connection to a shoplifting incident.

Chatham-Kent Police say a woman went into a Grand Avenue West business Tuesday evening, removed some clothing from the racks, and hid them in a bag before leaving.

Authorities were able to identify the accused form surveillance footage and say she was already wanted in several other investigations and bound by a previous probation order.

The 36-year-old was tracked down on Wednesday and taken into custody. The woman has since been charged with failing to comply with a probation order, two counts of failing to attend court, three counts of theft, and three counts of possessing stolen property.
