Arrest Made in Dresden Break and Enter

An arrest has been made following a residential break-in in Dresden.

Chatham-Kent Police responded to a North Street home shortly after 5:30 Thursday morning.

Authorities say the homeowner saw someone forcing their way into the home through video surveillance. The accused was seen going in through a basement window and rummaging through several rooms.

The suspect was gone by the time police arrived, but the security footage helped officers identify a suspect.

The 41-year-old man was arrested at a Dresden home later that day and has been charged with break and enter and theft under $5000, along with failing to comply with a release order from a previous incident. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
