A Chatham teen has been arrested after another youth was assaulted.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were on patrol on Thursday shortly before 5 p.m. when they spotted a large group of people gathered at the intersection of King Street and Princess Street.
Believing there was a fight taking place, the officers activated emergency equipment to alert those present. A teenager could then be seen on top of a 17-year-old boy, repeatedly punching him in the face.
The officers intervened and arrested a 17-year-old Chatham boy who is now charged with one count of assault. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
