Assault charges have been laid following a fight in Chatham.
Police were called to a disturbance on Centre Street Tuesday night just after 8 o’clock and say an argument between two men turned violent when one man was asked to leave the property. The accused then allegedly tackled the victim. A witness tried to intervene, but was also attacked.
The 27-year-old suspect is now facing two charges of assault. He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
