Assault Charges Laid in Two Unrelated Incidents

policeA pair of Chatham men are facing charges after heated arguments with their significant others.

In one case, police say a 37-year-old man threw a coffee table at his girlfriend, and assaulted the woman’s teenage son.  The suspect is charged with assault with a weapon and two counts of assault.

Meantime a 26-year-old man was arrested after refusing to let his ex-girlfriend leave his home. A cab driver called police when he arrived to pick the woman up, and the man wouldn’t let her out of the house.

The suspect in that case has been charged with assault, and was held in custody for a bail hearing.
