A Chatham woman is facing charges after assaulting her common law spouse. 
Police say the two got into a scrap early Monday morning, first verbally, but the woman is said to have escalated the issue when she struck the man with a glass object.
She then damaged his truck with a chair as she left the residence.
He was taken to hospital and released after receiving medical attention.
She was taken to police headquarters and released with a future court day after being charged with assault with a weapon and mischief.
