Assault charges have been laid against a Chatham man, accused of attacked a passing driver with a bat.
According to Chatham-Kent Police, the suspect followed the victim to the a truck stop Friday night, allegedly upset about how fast the driver had gone past his grandchildren.
The man confronted the driver, then began to hit him with the bat – the passenger suffered minor injuries, while the driver required medical attention.
The accused, a 58-year-old Raleigh Township man, is charged with assault, assault with a weapon, and assault causing bodily harm.
