
A local man has been charged after another man was stabbed during a fight in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to disturbance on Grand Avenue East shortly after 2 a.m. on Monday and discovered a man suffering significant injuries from being stabbed.
Police administered first aid to the victim, who was then taken to hospital for further treatment. His condition has not been released.
Following an investigation, police have arrested a 30-year-old Chatham man who is now charged with attempted murder. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Authorities said the victim and the accused are known to each other and there no concern for public safety.
