
A local woman has been charged following a stabbing in Wallaceburg.
While few details about the incident have been released, the Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the Murray Street area at and unspecified time on Friday.
Details about the victim and the extent of their injuries have not been released.
The investigation was assumed by the Major Crime unit, which quickly identified a suspect who is known to the victim.
With help from the Ontario Provincial Police, the 36-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested on Monday and charged with attempted murder. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Authorities said this was an isolated incident and an investigation remains ongoing.
