Audette One Step Closer to Sentencing

The body of Nick Laprise was found in a Book Street home on April 18, 2018.

The case against a Wallaceburg woman accused of killing of Nick Laprise back in 2018 will be back in court again next month to set a date for sentencing.

Both the crown and defence have now presented their sentencing submissions for Kourtny Audette, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter this past August.

Earlier this month, Audette’s lawyer asked for a suspended sentence and three years’ probation. On Friday, the Crown requested 10 years behind bars and a lifetime weapons ban.

It’s expected the judge will deliver his sentence early in the new year.
