A recent donation is helping to ensure students in Chatham-Kent are getting valuable firsthand automotive experience.
Ford Canada has donated several automotive components to the Lambton Kent District School Board for use in Transportation Technology classrooms at local secondary schools. The classrooms are now equipped with engines, transmissions, and a variety of other components, such as valve bodies, starters, and steering racks.
These updated components will provide students with the opportunity to work on current engine models and systems that are being used on the road today.
“These parts will give students valuable firsthand experience and a real connection to the automotive industry,” said Nigel Bradshaw, a teacher at Chatham Kent Secondary School. “Support like this helps bring learning to life and shows students what is possible.”
School board officials said the donation, which is part of Ford’s educational equipment program, will provide invaluable experience to those pursuing careers in the skilled trades and for students learning to maintain and understand their own vehicles.
