Half a dozen women are being recognized for their contributions locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
The May Court Club of Chatham will honour six outstanding women from Chatham-Kent at its Women of Excellence awards reception at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre on Friday.
Tracy Bultje is being recognized for her contributions to art and culture.
Brenda LeClair will be honoured for her work in the community, as well as her volunteerism.
Marlene Schaap Kuri will be recognized for her contribution to the field of health and wellness, medicine, science and technology.
Madeline Van Der Paelt will be recognized as a “Young Woman of Excellence” for her commitment, achievements and leadership.
And Dr. Sarah Mayes-Tang and her work in the field of education and training will also be celebrated.
The funds raised through ticket sales for the reception will be used by the May Court Club to fund the group’s charitable work in the local community.
