The head of a local charity is getting national recognition for her philanthropic efforts.
Christine Mitchell, the president and CEO of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation, has been named the recipient of the 2024 Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) – Canada South Chapter.
“Christine’s commitment to advancing health care in Chatham-Kent and beyond has been truly inspirational, and we are so fortunate to have her working here in our community,” said foundation Board Chair Bob Hockney in a news release. “Her work in championing our mission and building impactful relationships has set a new standard of excellence for our foundation, and this award is a well-deserved recognition of her strong leadership.”
Since joining the foundation in 2023, Mitchell has overseen several fundraising campaigns in support of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, with $643,894 in approved funding committed to the hospital in the last fiscal year.
Mitchell will be presented the award during the AFP’s National Philanthropy Day Celebration on November 14 at the Hellenic Cultural Centre in Windsor.
