As the song says, there’s no place like home for the holidays. And a local committee is hoping to prove that.
The municipality’s Community Attraction and Promotion group are charged with convincing former residents, people who grew up here and maybe went away to school, to come home.
This month they are promoting baCK Home For the Holidays to recognize those who made the move already.
“Every winter holiday, we host the baCK Home for the Holidays campaign to celebrate CK’s young people and all the amazing benefits of LivingCK. This includes showcasing the many employment opportunities to grow your career in CK and ways to get reconnected while you’re home.” said Victoria Bodnar, Community Attraction and Promotion’s Resident Attraction and Retention Coordinator.
The committee promotes the return by talking up the lifestyle and employment opportunities in the region.
“The baCK to Chatham-Kent campaign highlights the many reasons why Chatham-Kent is a great place to live and work. It encourages former residents to move baCK to their roots and build their lives and careers here. As always, we are happy to welcome CK residents baCK home.” said Mayor Darrin Canniff.
Residents who have come back to Chatham-Kent are invited ot share their stories online using the hashtag #LivingCK.
