The investigation continues following a small fire at a local high school.
Fire fighters responded to Chatham-Kent Secondary School just before 2 o’clock Monday afternoon after a fire was discovered in a second floor bathroom.
The school was evacuated and crews arrived to find a significant amount of smoke in the corridors. The blaze was quickly extinguished and the smoke cleared.
A dollar figure has not yet been placed on the damage, which includes slight fire damage to the bathroom and smoke damage on the second floor of the main building.
“The swift actions of the staff to evacuate the building and follow up with additional information allowed us to make an effective attack on the fire,” explains Fire Chief Chris Case.
No one was hurt.
The cause remains under investigation.
