A warning from Chatham-Kent Police to be careful on bodies of water.
Authorities say that even as temperatures drop, not all rivers and creeks are frozen over quiet yet, and while some areas may seem solid, conditions can quickly change and fluctuating temperatures may cause the ice to be unstable.
- Please do not go out on the ice alone
- Ensure that you are prepared, should an emergency arise ie: communication device, safety equipment.
- Use caution at all times and stay close to shore
