A Wheatley woman is $400,000 richer, thanks to a recent lotto win.
Julia Reid struck it rich on an Instant Plinko ticket. The game combines scratch play with prizes revealed in-store by an animated chip drop on the lottery terminal screen and potentially, the chance to drop a chip on a real PLINKO Board at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.
Reid was getting her hair and nails done after lockdown when she bought the ticket.
“I played my ticket in the car when I realized I won a CHIP prize,” she says. “I brought it to the store, and that’s when I realized I would be coming to Toronto to play the in-person chip drop!”
Reid says her husband cried tears of joy when she broke the news.
The couple plans to pay off their daughter’s student loan and finish up some home renovations with lots left to spare for retirement.
The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Seacliff Drive in Leamington.
