Black Goose Soup Kitchen Closes, Serves 21,000+ Meals

With the continued re-opening of dining establishments, Wallaceburg’s Black Goose has closed their soup kitchen after helping serve those less fortunate throughout the pandemic.
Mark Childs took to social media to make the announcement and share some appreciation.
“All good things must come to an end,” said Childs. “We want to thank our volunteers. In a word, ‘amazing’. Without them, the soup kitchen would have failed. We also want to thank Second Harvest for a grant and Wallaceburg and surrounding area for the donations that kept the project going.”
The soup kitchen served 21,326 meals, delivered throughout Wallaceburg, Port Lambton, Dresden and Walpole Island.
The soup kitchen also wishes to recognize Pastor Brian Horrobin and Jayne Glover for their assistance and arranging the lists for those in need locally.
