A familiar face is taking over the role of Communications Officer for the municipality.
Long-time newspaperman Jim Blake is officially stepping into the role Monday October 17th.
Blake has more than 30-years-experience in the local media and is co-owner of the Chatham Voice weekly newspaper.
He is also active in the volunteer sector, currently sitting on the board of the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre and the Foundation of the Chatham-Kent Children’s Treatment Centre, and is a past-chair of the United Way of Chatham-Kent.
“I’m excited to be able to join the Chatham-Kent municipal team and look forward to sharing our stories with the community we serve,” Blake says.
Chief Administrative Officer Don Shropshire adds “We are very excited to have Mr. Blake join our team. The communications role is a vital to our transparency and sharing of information at the municipal level. His depth of experience and solid relationships in the community will help us better shape our communicating efforts.”
