A 19-year-old from Blenheim is facing several charges for allegedly assaulting three people, including his mother and a police officer.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said an argument outside of a Blenheim home turned violent on Monday morning when the 19-year-old man allegedly began damaging property and assaulting his mother. A passerby saw was also assaulted when they attempted to intervene.
Police responded to the disturbance at around 9 a.m. and arrested the suspect.
While in custody, the Blenheim man allegedly assaulted a police officer and caused “further mischief” in the holding cell.
As a result, the accused is charged with two counts of mischief, two counts of assault and one count of assaulting a police officer. He was held pending a bail hearing.
