BMX and skate parks across Chatham-Kent are now closed.
This announcement from C-K’s Medical Officer of Health follows the province’s new emergency order to prohibit organized public events and social gatherings of more than five people.
Dr. David Colby says the closures are effective immediately.
“These increased measures are taking place to ensure physical distancing across our community”, said Colby. “Simply put, you should not be within two metres of someone who does not live within your household.”
Organized public events include parades, weddings, all kinds of social gatherings and services of worship. An exception has been made for funerals which are allowed to take place with up to 10 people in attendance.
Families of more than five people are also exempt from the new social gathering regulations.
