Body Of Missing Port Bruce Man Found On Shore Of Lake Erie

Another search on Lake Erie has ended in heartbreak.
After an extensive search, Elgin OPP say the body of missing Port Bruce man Michael Renton was located deceased on the shore of Lake Erie on Wednesday.
He was 62 years old.
Elgin OPP members, the OPP Marine Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team Members, OPP Aviation Services and Malahide Fire Services all took part in the search efforts.
Renton was located by the OPP’s search helicopter on Wednesday afternoon approximately 8 kilometres east of Port Bruce. OPP Emergency Response Team members along with Malahide Fire Services Technical Rescue Team assisted on Wednesday night with the high angle (cliff) recovery from the water’s edge.
Foul play is not suspected by police.
Renton was last seen leaving his residence on foot in the Port Bruce area around 10:15pm on October 6th.
