A boil water advisory issued for the Tilbury area earlier this week has been expanded.
After tests showed elevated bacteria counts in treated water, the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit has included the town of Wheatley and areas between Tilbury and Wheatley west of Grove Road extending into Essex County.
A reminder, residents under the advisory should bring all water for consumption or food preparation to hard boil for one minute before use.
Health officials say the advisory will remain in place until the Health Unit receives good results from two consecutive sets of samples taken a minimum of 24 hours apart.
