A popular fundraiser is back for its fourth year, supporting local residents in crisis.
Chatham-Kent Victim Services will host its annual Bowling Thunder event on Sunday, March 29 at Chatham Bowlerama on Keil Drive.
Organizers are hoping to raise $25,000 this year through registrations and an online auction featuring unique experiences and collectables.
“The number and complexity of crisis calls we respond to has starkly increased over the past year,” said Executive Director Leah Cabral in a news release. “This fundraiser is an important part of sustaining and strengthening our volunteer-based response model.”
All money raised will help the agency provide short-term emotional support, crisis intervention, practical assistance, and community referrals to those impacted by crime, tragedy, and traumatic situations. Chatham-Kent Victim Services supports more than 1400 people across Chatham-Kent each year.
