The 4th annual Boxes and Blankets fundraiser taking place tonight in support of Chatham-Kent’s men’s shelter.
According to Hope Haven spokesperson Wanda Bell, participants will spend the night outdoors on the patio in front of the Downtown Chatham Centre, getting a first-hand look at what it’s like to be homeless.
Bell says they’d like to raise $30,000 this year in support of the men’s shelter.
About a dozen people turned out for last year’s event, but organizers are hoping to triple that number this year.
The fundraiser kicks off at 7pm tonight and wraps up at 7am Saturday morning.
