Break-In Suspect Caught On CCTV Camera

An arrest has been made following a break-and-enter at a Chatham business that was caught on a surveillance camera.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service was contacted by a business owner on Tuesday shortly before 6 a.m. after an individual was spotted on a CCTV camera breaking into their Colborne Street business.

The footage showed the individual stealing scrap metal from the owner’s property.

Officers responded to the scene and were able to locate a suspect. A 54-year-old Chatham man was arrested and has been charged with one count of break-and-enter to commit an indictable offence. He was later released from custody with an April court date.
