Bridge Washing Could Cause Traffic Delays

Spring cleaning for some bridges could cause traffic tie up for motorists across Chatham-Kent this week.

Some of the larger bridges in Wallaceburg and Chatham are on the docket this week, starting with the Lacroix Street and Fifth Street bridges in Chatham today between 8am and 4pm.

Tomorrow, washing operations shift to Wallaceburg, affecting the Base Line Bridge from 8am to noon. There will be a short bridge closure to vehicles and pedestrians to open the bridge to access certain areas.

Wednesday from 8am to 4pm, crews will tackle the Murray Street Bridge and Dundas Bridge. Drivers in the area can expect single lane closures through the day with crews on site directing traffic.

Thursday, the Lord Selkirk Bridge will be completely shut down from 7am to 6pm, however emergency vehicles will have access through the work zone when required.

On Friday, cleaning crews will be back in Chatham for the Parry Bridge on Keil Drive from 6am until noon.

Motorists are advised to find alternate routes, if possible, to avoid delays.
