Wallaceburg’s Madison Broad is golden with a first place finish in the 50 metre backstroke at the age group nationals in Calgary. 
Broad now has two medals after two events at nationals – a silver in the 200m back and now a gold in the 50m back.
Broad won five medals at last year’s competition.
Genevieve Sasseville finished 8th in the 100 metre free swim on Thursday evening.
