This is Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week.
Staff and students across the Lambton-Kent District School Board are learning more about bullying and how it can affect student learning and well-being.
Typically defined as a form of repeated, persistent, and aggressive behaviour, bullying is represented in various forms – physical, verbal, social, and electronic.
“Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week is an opportunity to reinforce the important lessons about the different forms of bullying; encourage students to connect with caring adults; and highlight the resources available to support students with concerns,” said Director John Howitt. “We remain committed to working together to promote positive learning and work environments so that students and staff feel safe and welcome in our schools.”
Schools throughout the public board, with support from Safe Schools and Multi-Disciplinary Teams, will be taking part in a variety of activities throughout the week to promote bullying awareness and prevention.
